What is MetaTrader 5 (MT5)?

MetaTrader 5 is the newer version of MetaTrader with more timeframes, tools and markets.
MT5 adds more chart timeframes, an economic calendar and a faster strategy tester.
Many brokers are moving to MT5 and newer bots are often built for it.
MT4 EAs don't run on MT5 without being rewritten.
