What is CTR (Click Through Rate)?

Updated October 24, 2026

CTR is the percentage of people who click after seeing your link, thumbnail or ad.

If 1,000 people see your thumbnail and 50 click, CTR is 5%.

Better titles and thumbnails usually raise CTR.

High CTR with low watch time can mean the content didn't match the promise.

Example

Your new cover with a question doubles CTR from 3% to 6%.
