What is Diversification?

Updated October 22, 2026

Diversification means spreading money or effort across different things so one failure doesn't sink you.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. That's the whole idea.

In investing it means many assets. In business it means many income streams.

It lowers risk but never removes it.

Example

Instead of one bot holding all your money, you split between savings, an index fund and a small trading account.

Questions people ask

Can I over diversify?

Yes, too many small bets can be hard to manage.

Is it good for income streams?

Yes, it protects you if one platform changes.
