What is Introducing Broker (IB)?

Updated October 18, 2026

An introducing broker refers new traders to a broker and earns a share of the trading costs those clients pay.

An IB is basically a forex affiliate. You send people to a broker and earn a rebate on their trades.

It doesn't cost the trader extra in most setups. The broker shares part of its spread or commission.

It's a business model, not a trading strategy. You earn from activity, but you should only recommend brokers you'd use yourself.

Example

Someone signs up with your IB link and trades 10 lots a month. You get a small rebate per lot.

Questions people ask
