How to use this calculator
Type the price you got in, the price you got out, your size in standard lots, and whether it was a buy or a sell. The result is for pairs that end in USD, like EUR/USD or GBP/USD. For other pairs, use our pip value calculator to get the pip value first.
The math: pips = (exit − entry) ÷ pip size (flipped for a sell). Profit = pips × pip value, and pip value = units × pip size.
How do I calculate profit in forex?
Find how many pips price moved in your favor, then multiply by the pip value for your lot size. On one standard lot of EUR/USD, each pip is about $10.
How much is 100 pips worth?
On one standard lot of a pair ending in USD it is about $1,000. On a mini lot about $100 and on a micro lot about $10.
Does a sell trade work the other way?
Yes. On a sell you make pips when price falls and lose them when it rises. Set the box to 0 for a sell.
Does this include spread and fees?
No. Your broker's spread, commission and swap come off the result, so the real number is a little lower.
Does this calculator save my numbers?
No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
