What is Long Position?

Going long means buying because you think price will go up.
Long means buy. You profit if price rises.
In forex, going long EURUSD means buying euros with dollars.
Longs need a stop loss below your entry in case you're wrong.
Example
You go long gold at 2,400 and close at 2,420 for a profit.
