What is Print on Demand?

Updated October 21, 2026

Print on demand is selling custom designed products that are printed and shipped only when someone orders.

You upload designs for shirts, mugs or posters. A partner prints and ships each order.

No upfront stock, so low risk.

Profit per item is small, so you need lots of designs and traffic.

Example

Someone buys your zodiac mug on Etsy and the print partner ships it for you.
