How to use this calculator
Type your size in standard lots (0.01 is a micro lot), the current price of the pair and its pip size. For pairs that end in USD, like EUR/USD, leave the last box at 1. For pairs where USD comes first, like USD/JPY or USD/CAD, type 0 and we convert with the price.
The math: pairs ending in USD: pip value = units × pip size. USD first pairs: pip value = units × pip size ÷ price.
How much is 1 pip worth?
On one standard lot of a pair that ends in USD, such as EUR/USD, one pip is worth about $10. A mini lot is about $1 and a micro lot about $0.10.
How do I calculate pip value?
Multiply the units you trade by the pip size. If the US dollar is the first currency in the pair, divide that by the pair price to get the value in dollars.
What is the pip size for JPY pairs?
For pairs with the Japanese yen, a pip is 0.01. For most other pairs it is 0.0001.
Why does pip value change?
When the US dollar is not the second currency, pip value moves with the exchange rate, so it shifts a little as price moves.
Does this calculator save my numbers?
No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
