What is KYC?

Updated October 19, 2026

KYC means Know Your Customer, the ID checks brokers and platforms do before letting you trade or withdraw.

You usually upload a photo ID and proof of address.

It's a legal rule to stop fraud and money laundering.

If a broker never asks for KYC, be careful. It can be a sign they're unregulated.

Example

You upload your passport and a utility bill and your account is approved the same day.

Questions people ask
